VC Stroossen is very happy to announce the arrival of Burkhard Disch, a very experienced coach and manager. He is well known in the Luxembourg sports and volleyball community.

Initially, Burkhard was coaching CS Gym Bonnevoie from 2000 to 2003 and then became Head Coach of the Luxembourgish Men’s National Team for more than 10 years. He was also Flvb Technical Director, Fivb Development Centre Director and Board Member of the Small Country Division of CEV. 

In Germany, Burkhard worked for the regional Volleyball Verband Rheinland Pfalz and was Head Coach in Bliesen (2 Bundesliga). From 2020 to 2022 he was Head Coach of the Icelandic National Men’s Team before coming back to Luxembourg and joining Cosl as Responsible For Promotion Of Sports. Furthermore, Burkhard spent one season (2019/2020) with VC Lorentzweiler. 

In Strassen, Burkhard will be the Assistant Coach of the Men 1 Team and taking over the responsibility for our U19 boys. 

Burkhard has huge volleyball knowledge and experience and he will certainly become also an important part in relation with technical and organizational matters. Furthermore, he will certainly bring in new ideas and projects to VC Stroossen.

VC Stroossen is very happy to announce the arrival of Yuri Pinheiro Madeira a very experienced coach and manager from Portugal. 

As a player, he finished 5 times Portuguese National Champion in A2 and played for 6 years in Portuguese A1 League. He won the national champion title in Indonesia and was also a beach player.

As a coach he won the national championship A2 and several youth titles with different U13, U15, U17 and U21 teams.

Yuri also has huge experience as team manager in different European competitions. Among other functions, he was also youth coordinator with the well-known club of Fonte do Bastardo in the Azores.

In Strassen, Yuri will be coaching our Ladies 1 and U17 girl’s teams. Furthermore, he will be totally involved with our new “Ballschoul” and with many other youth teams as supervisor and coordinator. We are sure that Yuri will be of a very big added value to our youth teams and help them to continue progressing.
